A Logic Pro Help user, Pac Man, posted a link a free download 50 of his platinum hip hop drum kits in EXS24 format.  Pac Man posted: “Yes, you can use these samples in your own creations, commercially.  They are royalty free. These are from my own archives of personal samples collected over the past 14 years I have personally sampled these drum samples using my MPC 3000. Now that I am a LOGIC PRO man, I have added them to my sample library using the EXS24. I have become quite fond of Logic and this is the first of much more to come as I will share if there is love on the post…..” You need to be a registered Logic Pro Help user to access these downloads BUT it’s free to register and if your using Logic Pro, you should be registered already, so what the hell are you waiting for?  Download these ASAP!

The good people at Rekkerd.org posted their Rekkerd Analog Kick Pack, which features 65 free kick drum samples from the Jomox MBase 01.  Ronnie at Rekkerd.org said: “I recorded this synth a while ago but never got around to sharing the sounds with you, until today. Finally I found some time to process the recordings and create a sample pack, so here it is.” Kick drums are the foundation that your productions are built on so load up on these free sounds and get to work!

A user at IDM Forums, TheDriller, posted links for a free download of his Cast Iron Hits Volumes 1 and 2.   TheDriller said: “as a gesture of good will to my fellow audio-warriors, and as a way to keep myself sharp between projects, i’ve decided to make and release some sample packs on a regular basis.“  So keep checking back to his site to download more free stuff from TheDriller.

An IDM Forum user, almosthuman, posted a link to download a free lofi sample pack.  The pack has almost 900 KB’s of samples and the other IDM users who have downloaded the pack are impressed.

HipHopMakers, a great resource for all things music production, has a page with free drum kits and sample downloads.  In order to download the samples, you are required to sign-up and/or log-in but it’s a small price to pay for free samples……right?

The fine folks at FutureProducers just started a new thread where their users can post their free drum kits for download.  Several users have already posted their kits and there’s a lot of quality samples.  This thread will definitely keep expanding so you should check back with it frequently.

A KVR Audio user, Bronto Scorpio, posted to offer up his first ever sample pack for download.  The  free download contains 120 glitchy noises as well as a Kontakt instrument where the samples are mapped across the keyboard with some weird speed and distortion modulations.

An Audiofanzine user, Ukaef, posted a link to his Rock Da 500 sample library of MPC 500 samples.  In his post, Ukaef says:

“I’m proud to present Rock Da 500 vol.1 – free library of sounds and programs for Akai family samplers (MPC 500, 1000, S-series) and all hardware/software which are compatible with WAVe files (for ex. FL Studio, Ableton Live, Cubase, Reason, etc.)  The pack contains 351 MB of samples in 16-bit, 44,1 kHz format – including 50 PGM and AKP programs, and small utility for quick modification of PGMs.”

Go check out the free samples page at xylote.com!  Their site has a grip of sample packs for purchase but their free page has 2 sample packs available for download, 100 mb from “Producer Beats” and some free trance/techno samples and loops.  By now, you probably know my motto……you can never have enough free sounds, samples, and loops.

Hollow Sun comes through again more some more killer freebies.  In his post at KVR audio, Hollow Sun said: “The page describes it all but, to summarise, it’s a fabulous, mellow string patch from the 1939 Novachord with some variations on the theme that allow you to enjoy the quirky, idiosyncratic, sometimes ‘cronky’ but overall lush wonders of this, the oldest synth ever to have been sampled in all its valvular glory!”
